Happy Monday, guys!

I'm happy to share one of my latest projects with you. This client of mine is just fabulous! Since the day we met, her ideas and style really resonated with me. It's such a pleasure to work with like-minded clients! We had so much fun putting this first room together and I really fell in love with the transformation of the space :)

We added a bunch of cozy elements and textures to build a comfortable environment for her guests! A black & white gallery wall was built including personal photos and a cute "Mi casa es su Casa" sign that we adore! I always recommend using personal photos in intimate spaces like this one - it's much more meaningful than placing them on a hallway, don't you think?

For that glam factor we included pops of metallic and used a pair of beautiful brass sconces which also gave us more surface space for accessories, books and any other items her guests would like to have around. The cozy atmosphere was completed with a soft rug and velvet curtains for a layered look. Isn't this an inviting room now? I would love to spend the night in here.

Thanks so much for reading. Have a fabulous week! xx.

Lake house home office - with a view!

As soon as I saw this house for the first time I knew it had a lot of potential. Cluttered with innumerable arquitectural details and furniture that was too busy (and big) for the space, this house was calling for an urgent transformation to become a welcoming weekend lake house.

My client's art collection was the inspiration for the whole place. His pieces were bold and fabulous! It was an easy call to build a color palette based on his favorite paintings which were strategically placed as focal points - on top of the fireplace for example. Blues, neutrals and pops of red mixed with natural elements create a cozy yet chic space. We repurposed the original chandelier with a coat of white paint; turned it upside down; and eliminated some details that didn't mach the decor anymore.

The color blue expanded to the master bedroom and the home office creating a cohesive environment and bringing that peaceful lake house feeling. Working on this space was so much fun! The view itself was very inspiring and helped build all my decor ideas. The greenery in the backyard changed constantly bringing new flowers, colors and fragrances that we brought inside for extra glamour. I couldn't be happier with the results!

Welcome to the lake house. Here's a couple of Before & After pictures for you to see the transformation :) I hope you like it. xx.

BEFORE & AFTER - Rental Transformation

BEFORE & AFTER

IMG_0501.JPG

Hi there!

It's been FOREVER since I sat down to write a blog post. And I'm so happy it's to share this project with you all!

A fun transformation in a small rental apartment in Adams Morgan. My client wanted to give her place a fresh new start that invites to relax after a long day of work, and reflects her love for shiny accessories ;)

We had tons of fun transforming her living room. We got rid of chunky dark furniture and added some clean lines with light grays and metallic touches. Placing shelves on the wall helped having a more open floor plan. While a mix of blue, gray and cooper makes the room look brighter and much more interesting. We were so happy with the final result!

Don't let a rental stop you from creating a stylish home. You can accomplish this by investing in key pieces that you love and that are more likely to be reused once you move. A couch, for example, is always a great investment! Go for smaller sizes to make sure it fits in different rooms.

My favorite piece is the mirrored cabinet that serves as pretty storage to hide TV accessories and cables. You can never have too many mirrors in a room. What do you think?

See all pictures of this project with the tag #SSRentalChicProject on instagram! Also, how do you like this insta videos situation? Are you doing it? I'm trying... ha! ;)

Thanks for passing by! Remember to get inspired and stay inspired. xx.
